2009-01-31 Anti-dumping regulation published. Anti-dumping regulation 91/2009 applying anti-dumping duty on iron and steel fasteners imported to the European Union from People’s Republic of China was published in the EU Official Journal on 31 January 2009, becoming community law on that date. The duties came into force on the day following publication and apply to goods entering free circulation in the EU market after that date. The full regulation can be found at the Official Journal on the EU website – reference L29 31 January 2009. Key details are as expected:- General tariff of 80 percent. Around 100 cooperating companies (listed in Annex 1) accorded tariff of 77.5 percent Eight companies granted “individual treatment” (IT) accorded specific tariffs. These included Yantai Agrati Fasteners Co Ltd and CELO Suzhou Precision Fasteners Co Ltd, accorded 0 percent duty.  One Chinese company obtained a tariff of 26.5 percent. Other IT companies have tariffs ranging from 63.1 to 79.5 percent. The range of products affected by the tariffs is defined by the regulation as: “...certain iron or steel fasteners, other than of stainless steel, i.e. wood screws (excluding coach screws), self-tapping screws, other screws and bolts with heads (whether or not with their nuts or washers, but excluding screws turned from bars, rods, profiles or wire, of solid section, of a shank thickness not exceeding 6 mm and excluding screws and bolts for fixing railway track construction material), and washers, originating in the People's Republic of China.

2008-05-02 Price Trend - Fasteners The availability of raw materials is limited, and discussions go on about quotas, which mean many suppliers find it difficult to leave prices on new business. The factories in China are filled with orders before the expected introduction of anti-dumping duty by 20-30 % when importing to EU.  This, in turn, has already pushed up the prices of several article groups to the European level. Europe Prices of raw materials are now administered on already confirmed orders. The price difference from December 2007 to May 2008 is 25-30%. Asia The raw material prices in China have risen since the end of the year which has increased the price of finished screws up to 40%. Additional, an expected introduction of anti-dumping duty (China) by 20-30 % when importing to EU has been administered.

2007-05-30 New Surface Treatment for Steel Rivets and Blind Rivet Nuts Since 2004 we have manufacture steel rivets and blind rivet nuts that meet the requirements of the RoHS directive in our plant in Bralo. Then (2004) it was decided to retain the yellow coating by changing to a Cr 6 free finish. Nowadays, most of the manufacturer of blind rivet have exceeded to Electrogalvanized steel rivet CR3 + +, which also meets the requirements of the RoHS directive. Thus because of the difficulties in getting a steady result when continuing with the yellow coating CR3 + +.
